It was the highway day, our voyage covered maximum kilometers in a single day. 700+ kilometers was the total distance traveled. And undoubtedly Nanos performed very well. The voyage also measured the stretch of 'National Expressway 1' i.e 'Ahmedabad-Vadodra Expressway'.
It was NH-76 from Chittorgarh to Udaipur and then we hit NH-8. NH-8 runs from Delhi to Mumbai being a part of 'Golden Quadrilateral'.
250+ kilometers to cover and we started with feeding our nanos. The road to follow was the NH-8 via Himmatnagar.
It was 6.00 in the morning and at the gas station we met the first dreamer of this beautiful piece of engineering of which a common man can think to afford.
Mr. Patel, who was on his way to open his shop early in the morning but stopped at the petrol pump to see our 'Nano ki Toli' and he really came with a HUGE GRIN. And when I asked, 'Hello Sir, how are you?'; he immediately replied, 'Nice Car'. I was truly thinking what is he talking about!! Before I could say him anything he said again, this is the vehicle which he can think to afford so that his family also can say that they have a car and they all(5 members) can travel easily all around. And he also started planning to get one soon.
Man-O-Man, I was almost in Trauma then. This is what Mr. Ratan 'Nano' Tata really wanted when he thought of making the 'Nano' project a reality.
Thank you Mr. Patel to made the day of 'Nano Superdrive Team' and I am yet to forget that straight from heart smile of yours.
People were even curious to know where the fuel tank of Nano is. The Nano has a fuel tank of 15 liters and is front loading.
Meet our companions for the day from Tata Motors, Mr. Sandeep Singh (Gujrat territory manager) and Mr. Sameer Thakkar (Customer support manager). They accompanied us till Udaipur.
The journey was quite smooth through out on the Highway. The Trails of Nano was every where a head turner.
I want to share my personal experience here, being 5' 11", I'm always concerned about the legroom available and Nano has not disappointed me. It's quite big and seating is very very comfortable. And I also wanted to say something about the air conditioning of this car, It's more than efficient. Through out our 300 kilometers of ride the AC was never run in full speed, it is chilling at the second stop.
Here is the Cockpit of NANO...
