It was the highway day, our voyage covered maximum kilometers in a single day. 700+ kilometers was the total distance traveled. And undoubtedly Nanos performed very well. The voyage also measured the stretch of 'National Expressway 1' i.e 'Ahmedabad-Vadodra Expressway'.
It was NH-76 from Chittorgarh to Udaipur and then we hit NH-8. NH-8 runs from Delhi to Mumbai being a part of 'Golden Quadrilateral'.
After the Landmark event in KOTA we had to do the Flag-off ceremony as we needed to reach before 27th afternoon for the flag-in ceremony in Mumbai and the stretch was some 1200+ kilometers.
The last leg...
After Flag-off we hit the NH-76 again and our target was to reach Udaipur but we faced sandstorm and rain which forced us to make our stay at the historical city of Chittorgarh.
The 'SAFFRON ROUTE - A drive through India' team has already started for 'Amritsar'. We just hope to touch this holy city today late in the evening. We hope to get another great experience with the blessings of 'WAHE GURU JEE'.
Our Pit-Stop will be at 'Autokapoor'. You can pay a visit to meet our team there as well as to experience 'Tata Nano'.
Event details:
Activity Place:
There is a whole day event organized by Tata Motors from 10.00 AM to 10.00 PM in the evening at Celebration Mall, be a part of it and enjoy with a unique experience.
Landmark Activity:
These are the popular places in your city where we will come with these 3 Nanos traveling all across the country only to showcase you.
Amritsar's landmark places are Jaliyawala Bagh, Sifati Dwar, and Golden Temple. We will be there in the first half of the day for some time only. Hope these places represent your city well. See you there tomorrow..... Cheers
After a eventful day yesterday we are already started for Amritsar. Our team is full of energy as every morning and was flagged-off by Telmos Automobile's MD, Mr. Sanjeev Gupta. Thank you very much Sir for being there so early in the morning and on time.
Today is going to be a long day, we have 450+ kilometers to eat-out, just hope to get little deserted roads so that we can rave in those single lanes.
And guyz, are you thinking about photographs!!! Are not you people getting bored from the same flag-off photographs, our 'Nano Toli' parked in-front of dealership points which seems to me that they are just chained and want to break-free!!! Just sharing my personal opinion, just hope it's no offense. AT least for a change 'm not going to shoot until the shutter sounds comes straight from my heart. Hope you will bear with me and will keep me following and complementing as you are doing. I just hope 'Haryana ki Khetiyan' aur 'Punjab ki Gaon' will do some magic.
But find the only photograph from the Flag-off event by Mr. Sanjeev.
And see what he has arranged, Yes 'DHOL'...
And also for a change, 'm gonna be the Pilot today. So you people can expect a detailed technical ride report from my end in next 24 hours or so, which is pending since long.
Catch me up here again late in the evening to update yourselves. See ya...
When I looked outside from the window in the morning after waking up, it was raining. I was pretty sure what is going to happen through out the day.
It's fine to drive in rain eating down kilometers after kilometers but not easy for events in a city and public participation.
Much earlier than the scheduled time I was there at 'Telmos Motors' where our troop was settled in previous night.
Feel the morning with these photographs, then we will talk about the events. Actually I don't want to disclose now what surprise 'Rain God' had for us in his kitty. Do look out for my next post....
'Hisar' in Haryana and on NH-10 is about 160 kilometers from National capital 'Delhi'. It was founded by Firozshah Tughlaq in 1354 A.D. and this Arabic word means 'Fort'. It was initially known as 'Hisar-e-Firoza'.
In history it played a vital role during the Moghul Era. Later in early sixties, Agriculture University was setup as an extension of the Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana.
You were updated about things till Lunch. And I mentioned that we faced rain and had plans for Lunch at Narnaul.
Following the same we headed for Hisar after lunch but faced thunder-storm and rain. The lighting was also low, means a bad time to take good photos.
Somewhere after Narnaul...
Off NH, we were quite happy to see the craze of people for Nano, and it seems to be a 'Dream Car' for many. Each and every vehicle was slowing down to see out trail. And each smile we were getting in the return was just tremendous.
Our 'COMPANIONS' for the day...
Due to low light and rain I captured very few photographs today. But the State Highway was much more scenic to me so could not resist to capture few Superdrive shots but resulted in getting some water in the 18-55mm lens, just hope it not to create any problem so that I can provide you more and more 'Eye Candies'.
'Nano' & 'Nanu'
A Haryanvi guy whom I named 'Nanu' was humble enough to pose for my lens. Thanks boy!
Few kilometers before 'Hisar'...
At 8.00 in the evening we entered the service center of Tata Dealer, Telmos Motors.
'TA TA' for today...
And here the DAY ends, see you tomorrow at Landmark Points, Fountain Chowk, O P Jindal Tower, Laxmibai Chowk and Gurjari Chowk. Also at Suncity Mall throughout the day... SABBA KHER
The 'Saffron Route Team' is on it's way to Hissar and already has covered 160 kiometers. We are off NH-8 now and are about to reach ''. After beating the scrotching HEAT of Gujrat and Rajasthan, the weather is much pleasant today and we faced our first pre-monsoon RAIN. What a relief it was!!! It was just before entering Haryana off NH-8.
Narnaul will be our next halt for the lunch-break.
Till now from the starting of the trip we were on NH-8, but now it was time to take the challenge, we hit the State Highway after few kilometers from Kotputli in Rajasthan. I don't think bumpy rads will make any issue for the Nano because as of now I'm much much satisfied with the suspension.
Though we all are happy with RAIN DROPS all around, but 'm missing the regular shootings and photo-breaks.
MORE updates following soon with photographs. And I hope you are ENJOYING the journey with us till now.
